In my many years of role playing, I have encountered loads of fabulous icon makers. I've learned from them, idolized them and hated them for being so much better than me. But, as it turns out, I'm not all that bad, so I decided to set up my own icon journal in hopes of one day being aligned with them.
What I've noticed missing (or at least, not as common) in iconing, is icons made from screencaps. While some may not be the best quality, I think they give a wider range of emotions and situations to chose from, and so can be valuable in RPing.
